Is Your Relationship on the Right Path?

Humans spend about 284, 700 waking hours in relationships during a lifetime. We shape and are shaped by the associations we have with others. Having positive, healthy relationships is important
to the level of satisfaction and happiness that we experience in our lives.

You know you're in a healthy relationship when...

  • You and your partner respect and value each other.
  • You both support and encourage each other's goals and ambitions.
  • You trust each other and are not jealous or possessive.
  • You don't fear your partner, and she or he don't fear you.
  • You both feel safe expressing your opinions without feeling judged or put down.
  • It is understood that you and your partner share decision making responsibility including if, and when and where to have sexual contact.
  • You both encourage each other to have friends outside your relationship.
  • Both your partner's and your self esteem are enhanced by the relationship.
  • In a healthy relationship you don't fear your partner and he or she does not fear you.

Courage to Face Life Challenges
Connection to Find a New Path

“Stepping onto a brand-new path is difficult, but not more difficult than remaining in a situation, which is not nurturing to the whole person.”
- Maya Angelou

"Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen."
- Winston Churchill

“One isn't necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can't be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest. ”
- Maya Angelou

"Meanings are not determined by situations, but we determine ourselves by the meanings we give to situations."
- Alfred Adler

"Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy."
- Norman Vincent Peale
